Castello di Amorosa has produced grapes grown from the unique climate and soil conditions of California’s Napa Valley. With the experience of veteran winemakers, Castello di Amorosa properly manages the quality and flavor of grapes to bring out the complexities of varietals including the Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Here at Castello di Amorosa we are committed to the traditional approach of making wine. Our modern techniques and equipment are used to improve the quality of the grape or fermentation process when necessary. To manage diseases in the vineyard crops and keep unwanted pests away from our Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir grapes, we use sustainable methods and approaches.
Wine making starts in the
vineyards. California’s unique climate, soil and growing
conditions are ideal for growing the finest grapes that go into
making fine Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. White grapes are
grown in the Carneros district, in the valley. Red grapes are grown
in the Napa Valley. All of Castello di Amorosa's vineyards are
located on the hillsides of the Napa Valley. Planting wine grapes
on a hillside creates a far better quality grape than grapes grown
on the valley floor. We strive to manage the quality and flavor of
the grapes, so that they exhibit all the necessary complexity and
quality we desire from our Pinot Noir.
For instance, our Pinot Noir from 2012 has a silky finish and fruit-forward hints. Grown in the Los Carneros vineyards cooler climate, this makes for exceptional Pinot Noir. If you are into Cabernet Sauvignon, perhaps you would be interested in our 2010 Napa Valley classic Cabernet. This wine is bursting with intense hints of plum and blackberry with a spicy finish.
